We all know that caesarean section is a relatively common method of delivery. Many pregnant mothers choose caesarean section when giving birth. Cesarean section is very particular and there are many precautions, especially before and after delivery. The time of caesarean section is also very important, so is it better to have a caesarean section in the morning or in the afternoon? Let’s take a closer look below!

Is it better to have a caesarean section in the morning or in the afternoon?

It is best to have a caesarean section in the morning. In fact, the time of cesarean section is the same, but it is better to complete the operation in the morning.

Because before a caesarean section, you need to stop eating for 8 hours. Therefore, if the operation can be arranged in the morning, the pregnant mother can prepare the night before the operation and have more time to rest. Moreover, it is still daytime after the operation. If something happens, the doctor will be available and available to take care of the mother.

If you have a caesarean section in the afternoon, you will also have to fast for 8 hours before the operation. Generally, you will not eat lunch. The pregnant mother will be so hungry that her chest will stick to her back. Moreover, she only starts preparing for the operation in the afternoon. It is difficult to guarantee that the operation will be completed before 12 o'clock in the evening.

The time of caesarean section is not always decided by the pregnant woman

The time of caesarean section will also be affected by the time of the surgeon and the urgency of caesarean section. Doctors who can perform caesarean section are all experienced. As someone who has experienced many battles, this also results in the doctor's schedule being tighter, so some caesarean sections need to be performed in the afternoon. The doctor's surgical technique and proficiency will also affect the speed of the mother's wound and body recovery, so sometimes pregnant women need to make a compromise and have the surgery in the afternoon.

If the fetal umbilical cord wraps around the neck, is wrapped too tightly, is knotted, has severe prolapse of the umbilical cord, sudden premature rupture of the amniotic fluid, oligohydramnios, leading to acute hypoxia in the fetus, or complete placenta previa, and the pregnant woman has massive bleeding, in these cases, the pregnant woman needs to have a caesarean section immediately, and the mother cannot choose the time. The only thing the doctor can consider is to rescue the baby with all his strength to ensure that the baby is born safely, and at the same time save the mother's life.

In fact, it doesn’t matter whether the caesarean section is performed in the morning or afternoon. The main thing is to choose a large hospital and an experienced doctor to perform the operation. As long as the mother and child are safe, there is no need for pregnant women to worry too much about this matter.

Under what circumstances is a caesarean section suitable?

Generally, doctors will recommend a caesarean section under the following circumstances:

1. Abnormal fetal position

During the late pregnancy check-up, If the fetus is found to be in an abnormal position, doctors will generally advise the pregnant mother to adjust the fetal position through some sleeping positions. If the fetal position is still incorrect before delivery, the doctor will advise the pregnant mother to have a caesarean section, because the abnormal fetal position will increase the difficulty of normal delivery and may endanger the baby's life.

2. The umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck or hands and feet.

Wrapping the umbilical cord around the neck or hands and feet is a common problem for many babies. Some are wrapped around once, some are wrapped around two or even three times. Doctors will also pay more attention to this issue during post-pregnancy examinations. They will recommend whether a vaginal delivery can be performed based on the way the baby is wrapped around the umbilical cord. Some babies can still have a vaginal birth with the umbilical cord wrapped around the neck. Most of them are wrapped around the neck. If the umbilical cord is wrapped around the hand or foot, the doctor will generally recommend a caesarean section, because it is very difficult to give birth naturally and can easily endanger the baby's life. I myself chose to have a caesarean section before because the baby’s umbilical cord was wrapped around my hand.

3. Low amniotic fluid volume

Nowadays, doctors will recommend that pregnant mothers must check once a week in the third trimester. This is very necessary, because in the third trimester, timely examination can determine whether the amount of amniotic fluid in the placenta is normal. Once it is found that the amount of amniotic fluid is too low, which is not enough to provide enough oxygen to the baby, a caesarean section must be performed in advance to prevent the baby from causing hypoxia in the mother's body.

4. The baby is initiating, but the cervix has not opened to the tenth finger.

Everything was normal during a pregnancy test for a friend of mine, and the doctor also said that her conditions were suitable for natural delivery. When the baby started to move, she felt pain for a long time, but the cervix could not reach the width of the birth. Later, the doctor was afraid that the baby would be stuffy in the belly for too long and cause hypoxia, so he suggested that she have a caesarean section.

5. Twins or multiple pregnancies

Pregnant mothers with twins or multiple pregnancies are generally prone to premature birth, and the delivery will be more difficult than with single pregnancies. Moreover, pregnant mothers with twins or multiples will generally have less amniotic fluid in the uterus in the later stages, which can easily cause hypoxia in the baby. Therefore, doctors generally recommend pregnant mothers to have a caesarean section in advance, especially for mothers with multiple births. Cesarean section can better ensure the safety of the fetus and adults.

6. Mothers who had a caesarean section gave birth again within three years

Generally, doctors will remind mothers who have a caesarean section to wait at least two to three years before they can become pregnant again, preferably three years later. First, it takes time for the body to recover, and second, because the belly is enlarged after pregnancy, I am afraid that it will affect the caesarean section wound. The pregnant mother who was in the same delivery room as me had a caesarean section for her first child. She originally planned to have a natural delivery for her second child because the interval between her second child and her first child was less than three years. The doctor said that her belly was too thin and she was afraid that the caesarean section wound would tear during the natural delivery, so she was advised to have a caesarean section. Of course, this situation may vary from person to person, and some may also be suitable for vaginal delivery.
